So here's the latest in my saga. I finally have a new laptop. Not quite the high-performance desktop that Alienware was supposed to send but, I have a new laptop. As it turns out Alienware no longer exists separately from Dell. As such, my Alienware account was useless and this is why I had SUCH a long delay in getting what I wanted originally. I had originally planned on using that account to buy myself something nice, and my Dell account to pickup Christmas stuff for mom and dad because they've been dying for their own computer (this way, they don't fight over the same one...). But that didn't work. So, I sacrificed my high-end machine for a mid-range laptop that had a combo deal so I could get mom's little netbook for less than a c-note along with it. Total bonus! And dad gets one too since there was room left. So I guess trying to be Mr. Nice Guy worked for all three of us.
I bought a new Studio XPS 13.

*Insert Random Tangent* Why only a 13 inch screen when for the same price I could've gotten a 17 which is MUCH better for my photo work... well, I've started taking the train to commute to work. I had a 35 mile one-way commute through 90 minutes of traffic. And the same coming home. Since my job will pay 75% of the train fare and offers a free shuttle from Los Angeles Union Station to my building 10 minutes away in Monterey Park, I went for it. And I can much more easily carry a 13 inch, 4 pound laptop than a 17 inch, 6.5 pound one. I can edit photos, post on here, and write my stories all on the go. More on the train thing later.

This little Studio XPS is packing enough power to run Lightroom and PS-Elements and that's all I need. It's got enough memory and hard drive space to keep me going but enough battery power to last a number of hours w/o my charger. On top of that, I bought the mobile broadband card for it from AT&T Wireless so I can get internet anywhere. I'm so excited. All for less than $1,100. On top of it the other 800 or so went to both my mom's and dad's Christmas gift and a little left over. I'm so happy just to be back on the internet. Oh how I've missed you.
Oh ... before I go this morning, the title of this journal is a bit odd right? Duh. At the train station in Upland there is a little coffee shop. One of the menu items is the Iced Spiced Choo Choo Chai Latte. It's a catchy, dare I say cute, title and it fits for it being a train station. That's all for now. Thank you all for your patience.
Ooo... Ooo... guess what's coming today you've almost all been waiting for?! That's right my friends, 20-30 new photos. I'll be going to lunch and begin uploading as soon as I get home.
